Polymega Expands Retro Library with ‘Bad Dudes’ and ‘Heavy Barrel’ Collections

Polymega, the modular retro gaming console renowned for its extensive compatibility, has recently augmented its game library with two classic Data East titles: Bad Dudes and Heavy Barrel. These releases, part of Polymega’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating retro gaming, offer both nostalgic players and new enthusiasts an opportunity to experience these iconic games in their original forms. 

Polymega Collection Vol. 5 – Bad Dudes

Originally launched in 1988, Bad Dudes is a side-scrolling beat ’em up where players assume the roles of Blade and Striker, tasked with rescuing the U.S. President from the nefarious Dragon Ninja clan. This collection includes multiple versions of the game:

• Bad Dudes (Arcade) 

• Bad Dudes (NES) 

• Bad Dudes (Famicom) 

Additionally, the collection features Two Crude, known as Crude Buster in some regions, which is considered the post-apocalyptic spiritual successor to Bad Dudes. Versions included are: 

• Two Crude (Arcade) 

• Two Crude (Genesis/Mega Drive) 

The package offers a comprehensive look at these titles, complete with a visual companion, controller reference, and collectible items.  

Polymega Collection Vol. 6 – Heavy Barrel

Heavy Barrel, released in 1987, is a run-and-gun arcade game where players infiltrate a terrorist base to thwart a nuclear threat. This collection comprises: 

• Heavy Barrel (Arcade) 

• Heavy Barrel (NES) 

• Heavy Barrel (Famicom) 

As a bonus, the collection includes Desert Assault (also known as Thunder Zone), another classic Data East title, enhancing the value for retro gaming aficionados.

• Vol. 4 – Drift Out: Presents the rally racing game Drift Out in its original Arcade form, capturing the essence of early 90s racing titles.
