Nintendo Music App Adds Classic F-Zero Soundtracks from SNES and 64DD

Futuristic electronic sounds from the future, from the past, are here!
Nintendo has expanded its Music app library with the addition of two nostalgic F-Zero soundtracks, bringing high-octane racing melodies to subscribers. The update includes the complete original Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) F-Zero soundtrack alongside music from the rare Nintendo 64DD F-Zero X Expansion Kit.
The SNES F-Zero soundtrack, originally released in 1990 alongside the futuristic racing game that launched the franchise, delivers 14 tracks totaling 26 minutes of music. Iconic compositions like "Mute City," "Big Blue," and "Fire Field" have been celebrated for their energetic tempo and memorable melodies that perfectly complement the game's blazing-fast races and futuristic setting.

This update builds upon Nintendo's previous addition of the original Nintendo 64 F-Zero X soundtrack, which joined the service in November 2024. The Nintendo Music app has been consistently expanding its library with classic game soundtracks, with recent additions including portions of Kirby's Switch album last week.
Nintendo's commitment to preserving its musical history through the Music app provides both nostalgia for longtime fans and an opportunity for newer players to experience the evolution of video game music across different hardware generations. The service continues to grow its catalog methodically, with Nintendo noting that additional Kirby music is scheduled to arrive later this year.
For F-Zero enthusiasts, this update represents a significant addition to the available listening options, especially considering the franchise has been dormant in terms of new game releases for many years, making these musical additions particularly meaningful to the dedicated fanbase.
