Initially launched on March 31, 1995, for the Super Famicom in Japan, Deae Tonosama Appare Ichiban garnered attention for its unique blend of humour and action. The upcoming release, under the title Feudal Bros: Tonosama #1, is a collaborative effort between Sunsoft, Ratalaika Games, and Shinyuden to bring this classic title to a global audience.
Gameplay and Features
Set during Japan’s Edo period, the game follows two unconventional heroes: Lord Baka, a Japanese feudal lord, and Prince Bouffon, a French prince. Their adventure spans various countries, each depicted with exaggerated stereotypes, culminating in a battle against an alien invasion in outer space. Players can choose between the two characters, each possessing unique abilities, and can engage in local cooperative play.
The re-release introduces several modern enhancements:
• Rewind and Turbo Functions: Allowing players to retry sections or speed up gameplay.
• Save State Feature: Enabling game saves at any point for convenience.
• Screen Filters: Offering various visual styles, including retro monitor effects and black-and-white modes.
• Gallery Mode: Providing access to original game manuals and box art.
• Cheat Options: Including infinite lives and invulnerability to assist players.
• Jukebox: Featuring all 36 original music tracks for listening at any time.
These additions aim to enhance the original experience while accommodating modern gaming preferences.
