Banana Bash Brings New Platforming Action to the NES and Famicom

New title from Work3 Studio launches a Kickstarter page with physical cartridge release for classic consoles
A new Kickstarter campaign is "launching soon" for Banana Bash, a vibrant platformer developed for the original NES and Famicom hardware. Created by indie studio Work3 Studio, the game will shortly be seeking funding to produce physical cartridges compatible with both systems, complete with boxes and manuals styled after classic releases. The game is based on single screen games such as Rainbow Islands, Snow Bros. and Bubble Bobble.

Banana Bash puts players in control of a nimble monkey on a mission to retrieve his stolen banana stash. The game is due to be built on a 4-megabit cartridge, which will make it one of the largest NES games avaiablle. The developers promise to flip the puzzle genre on its head with "eye popping" visuals, wacky humour and "brain bending" challenges - to the backdrop of a groovy soundtrack.
Work3 Studios recently won the best Game Play for this sutle at the MagFest Indie Retro Showcase, so it should be an engaging game, and we love the fact both the NES and Famicom versions are going to be available. The game is touted as being on of the biggest games ever made, and also offers 2-player mode in a battle arena.
Along with this there is also a combo and ranking system, warp holes, smashable walls and other features that can be used to clear the levels of see of the enemies. The graphics look cute and we are looking forward to getting out hands on this title.
